When the slokness of a subordinate officer or

constable is caused by intemperance or is certified by

a Government Medical Officer to be due to venereal

disease which has become aggravated by concealment, or

to sickness or injury which is purposely self inflicted,

he shall be provided with medical attendance, medical

comforts, diet and socommodation in hospital free, but

his pay shall be stopped for so long as he is absent

from duty.

XIX. In cases of ordinary sickness in the Colony, all

members of the Police Force may receive sick leave for

twenty-eight days on full pay in any period of twelve con-

secutive months, so long as they remain in hospital or

are convalescent and absent at their own homes on the

recommendation of a qualified medical officer or

practitioner.

Absence from duty on Hedical certificate beyond

a period of twenty-eight days in any period of twelve

consecutive months will be treated as full pay or half

pay leave or leave without pay as the case may be.

QUALIFICATIONS.

To be able to read and write

Age to be not less than 21 and not more than 25 years

of age.

Minimum height: 5 feet 8 inches, chest

measurement 33 inches for 6 feet 8 inches (increasing

proportionately).

SALARY AND ALLOWANCES.

The following particulars of rates of salary and

allowances at present obtaining but liable to revision

from time to time are appended for information:-
